REMEMBER: if it is a "Municipal" election, informaton will be posted here and on the Weber County web site.  If it is a "General Election" please refer to the Weber County Elections website.  

West Haven City will hold its municipal election this fall to elect one (1) 4 year Mayor, and two (2) council members, both 4-year terms. The Primary Election date is Tuesday, August 15, 2017; the General Election date is Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

Any person seeking to become a candidate for a West Haven municipal office shall file a Declaration of Candidacy in person with the City Recorder *during office hours and not later than 6:00 p.m. between June 1 and June 7, 2017 at the West Haven City Hall, 4150 S. 3900 W, West Haven. (20A-9-203)

The qualifications to be a candidate are (10-3-301: 20A-9-203):

  • Be a United State Citizen
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a resident of West Haven City or a resident of a recently annexed area for a period of 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the election.
  • Be a registered voter of West Haven City
  • Not be a convicted felon

Municipal Election Deadlines
June 1-7, filing period, Candidates must file with the City Recorder.
*Note: Regular office hours are Monday- Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Where do I vote?
The City has opted to go with the vote by mail election; you will start receiving ballots in the mail 30 days prior to the election. You will still have the option of voting at City Hall on Election Day.
