A project to widen or re-stripe SR-108 to three lanes (one lane in each direction with a center turn lane) from Antelope Drive (1700 South) in Syracuse to 1900 West in West Haven has resumed this spring.
Beginning in late May, crews will apply a chip seal to sections of S.R. 108, including:
  • 2000 West, 1175 South to 700  South (Syracuse)
  • 2000 West, 700 South to 200 South (Syracuse)
  • 2000 West , 200 South to 800 North (West Point)
  • Midland Drive4000 South to 1900 West (West Haven/Roy)
The multi-day chip-sealing process includes applying a thin layer of oil, followed by small rock chips. A couple of days later, a top coat of sealant will be applied to help the chips adhere to the road surface, and finally, lane stripes are painted.  A chip seal extends the life of the roadway, adds traction and provides a moisture barrier.
When crews apply chip seal in your area, on-street parking is restrictedCars parked on the street during chip seal activities are at risk of being towed at the owners’ expense. Please park elsewhere when crews are working in your area.
